About this bus lane
The northbound A34 Birmingham Road bus lane operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Buses, hackney carriages, pedal cycles, motorcycles and emergency vehicles may all use it; private hire vehicles may not.
The camera has been in place since February 2023. Walsall Council's published list also names a plain "Birmingham Road" site separately from this one, and its FOI response detailed only a single Birmingham Road section — so the two may well be the same stretch listed twice.
Hours and permitted vehicles come from Walsall Council's response to freedom of information request RFI-16212-26, 31 July 2026, which set out the position for each traffic order section by vehicle class. Private hire vehicles are not permitted in any of the sites the council detailed.
The penalty is £70, reduced to £35 if paid within 21 days.
