About this bus lane
The only one of Salford’s camera-enforced bus lanes that is not in operation around the clock: it runs Monday to Friday, 7am to 10am and 4pm to 7pm. Outside those hours, and at any time on Saturdays and Sundays, any vehicle may use it.
Buses, hackney carriages (black cabs), pedal cycles and emergency service vehicles may use it. Private hire vehicles — including app-booked minicabs — are not exempt.
It is also the newest — enforcement began on 7 February 2024 — and penalties climbed from 17 in its first partial year to 973 in 2025/26 as drivers met it for the first time. Location, hours and enforcement start date confirmed by Salford City Council’s response to freedom of information request DCL-OGK881, 10 August 2026.
