About this bus lane
Cleveland Street carries two separate restrictions. A bus gate runs from the Duke Street junction to the Young Street junction, and a southbound bus lane runs along the eastern kerbline from 28 metres south of St James Street to 111 metres south of Kelham Street.
The Order sets no time-of-day limit, so the restriction applies at any time — this replaces the council webpage’s vaguer statement that restrictions apply “whilst ever there are active bus services”. Motorcycles are exempt in the southbound bus lane but not in the Duke Street to Young Street bus gate, so they are shown as not permitted here — check the signs for the section you are on.
