About this bus lane
The A6 London Road bus lane operates only at peak times, and unlike Leicester's other bus lanes hackney carriages are not permitted — the council states buses and pedal cycles only. Outside the peak windows general traffic may use it.
Corrected August 2026: this lane is not camera-enforced, though an earlier version of this page said it was. The council's camera list names exactly one London Road bus lane camera, and its own records place that camera outside the railway station — the separate London Road and Waterloo Way bus gate, which has its own page here.
Its other London Road camera enforces a red route, not a bus lane. The lane still applies and can be enforced by a traffic officer, so obey the signs.
