One of Havering’s highest-earning bus gates — over £125,000 in penalties since going live in 2020.
Signed to Diagram 953 as a "buses and pedal cycles only" route — access is limited to local buses, pedal cycles, and (by exemption) emergency and Council refuse vehicles; all other motor vehicles including cars, vans and taxis are prohibited at all times. Serves the Kings Park (former Harold Wood Hospital) development to prevent through traffic while allowing bus routes.
Enforced by a fixed CCTV camera under the Council’s moving-traffic contravention powers. The council’s own CCTV camera list confirms the camera here, at the Elderberry Close junction, enforcing 24 hours a day under the bus gate contravention code; the council does not hold its installation date.
It has produced 7,479 penalty charge notices over the five years to 2025/26.
