This is the most heavily enforced corridor in the borough. The council’s own CCTV camera list records six cameras along the A1306 New Road — at Lower Mardyke Avenue, Askwith Road, Manser Road, Philip Road, Anderson Way and Manor Way — installed in December 2022 and June 2024, every one of them recorded as enforcing 24 hours a day.
A seventh location, at Marsh Way, appears in the council’s penalty data but not on its camera list. Together they account for 23,053 penalty charge notices over the five years to 2025/26, more than 16,000 of them at the Philip Road camera alone.
