About this bus lane
There is no camera here. Tameside Council confirmed in writing that although this is a marked, signed bus lane, no bus lane camera has ever been installed on it and no enforcement takes place — and it has since removed the road from the list of enforced bus lanes on its own website.
The lane and its signs still apply, and driving in it is still an offence a police officer could act on, but the council does not issue penalty charge notices for it. The road is absent from the enforcement figures the council supplied in August 2026, which cover its other seven camera sites.
The operating hours are not published anywhere — check the signs before the lane starts. Permitted vehicles are the borough-wide exemptions: buses, Hackney carriages and pedal cycles; blue badge holders are not exempt.
