About this bus lane
This bus lane runs at peak times only, Monday to Friday: 7.30am to 9.30am in the morning and 4pm to 6pm in the afternoon. Outside those windows, and at weekends, general traffic may use it.
The two periods were introduced years apart — the council has enforced the afternoon window by camera since February 2014 and added the morning one in November 2023 — so a driver who knew this road before 2023 may not expect the morning restriction. There is a separate Nottingham Road bus lane at Mansfield which runs around the clock.
Hours and permitted vehicles come from Nottinghamshire County Council's response to freedom of information request FOI/00008314, 31 July 2026, which listed every camera-enforced site in the county. The council names buses as the permitted class at all of them; it did not say whether pedal cycles may also use them, and most bus lanes do admit cycles, so the roadside sign is definitive on that point.
The council's list covers bus lanes and bus gates together without saying which each site is. Its own bus lane page publishes the £70 penalty (£35 if paid within 21 days) but no locations or hours.
