Middlesbrough Council confirmed in response to a Freedom of Information request (reference 023416, 13 August 2026) that it enforces one bus lane, Newport Road, and has no bus gates. This lane is not that one, so the council does not appear to run a camera here.
The restriction still applies. It is a signed bus lane on the council's own published list, driving in it during its hours is still a contravention, and the council can enforce it at any time — treat the absence of a camera as the council's current position rather than a licence to use the lane.
